This unit involves industry placement which will give students the opportunity to learn and demonstrate competency in the skills and attributes necessary for exercise science professionals. Students will apply the theory, understanding and skills developed in their previous study to their professional practice. Placement hours achieved in this unit will fulfil the total hours required for Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) accreditation as an exercise scientist.
1. Interpret and evaluate client information to assess, prescribe and deliver exercise;
2. Translate and communicate exercise science knowledge in a workplace context;
3. Develop professional and ethical behaviour in a culturally and socially diverse work setting; and
4. Synthesise and apply skills and knowledge gained from professional industry experience.
