In this unit, educators will develop a critical understanding of the research underpinning middle school leadership, and the impact quality leadership can have on improving This unit develop educators critical understanding of the research underpinning middle school leadership and the impact quality leadership can have on improving teaching and learning outcomes. Educators develop a critical appreciation and understanding of their context, their role in the Strategic Improvement Plan, and their professional and self-development aspirations. This unit explores theoretical and practical understandings of effective leadership strategies as educators are provided expert guidance to build middle school leadership capacity and expertise.

2. Explicate the link between middle school leadership and teaching and learning success;
3. Analyse how best to lead and develop others and teams in a range of educational contexts; and
4. Demonstrate a critical appreciation of self-development in an educational context.
