Following their own direct experiences of Country as Teacher through a Relating with Country practice, participating teachers will then discuss ways such experiences might be regularly worked into teaching and learning for their school students. They will collaboratively co-design units of work for student cohorts, including opportunities for their school students to develop their Relating with Country practice thus experiencing Country as Teacher, and for student-led inquiry-based curriculum. This co-design will also include the collaborative development of formative and summative assessment items.
1. Understand and articulate the value of Relating with Country practice and Country as Teacher experiences for all students, including the enhancement of personal, social and ecological wellbeing;
2. Work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team to co-design Country as Teacher units of work for student cohorts, including Country as Teacher curriculum sequences, Country as Teacher pedagogy and formative and summative assessment items; and
3. Understand and articulate the value (for self and others) of collaborative co-design processes for curriculum development and enactment.
