Effective management and administration strengthens leaders' capacity to deliver quality teaching and learning. In this subject, students engage with knowledge about educational structures, policies and organisational dynamics, and examine these in the context of Australian and international schools. By understanding the policy which provides strategic and operational direction for schools and educational systems, students are prepared for the fundamental elements of management, including resourcing (material and human), planning, budgeting and project coordination.
1. Select and apply managerial and administrative strategies to different educational contexts and challenges;
2. Demonstrate knowledge of different ways in which management and administration function in schools to maintain and enhance teaching and learning and school programs; and
3. Critically assess the suitability of management and administrative approaches to addressing institutional circumstances and the needs of key stakeholders.
