This unit introduces students to the design process and evolution of design solutions. Students will be exposed to the fundamentals of design research and identifying user-centred design solutions. The use of real-world problems will provide students with the application skills required to create a solution to a design problem.
1. Understand the iterative design process and design research skills;
2. Create innovative design solutions for real-world problems using the design process; and
3. Effectively communicate design processes and output for a variety of clients.
1. UC graduates are professional - use creativity, critical thinking, analysis and research skills to solve theoretical and real-world problems
3. UC graduates are lifelong learners - adapt to complexity, ambiguity and change by being flexible and keen to engage with new ideas
