Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Conduct research in accordance with the previously designed and evaluate the proposed formulated research objectives and research aim to answer a specific research question;
2. Reflect, evaluate and independently interpret and analyse the research data;
3. Critically review and synthesises the literature with analyses of interpreted data; and
4. Scientifically communicate the analysed results of the research project in part of a dissertation as well as for a manuscript submission to an appropriate peer reviewed journal.

Skills development
This unit will allow students to undertake a medical imaging research project that has been designed in the previously completed Medical Imaging Project Design H unit. Students will work independently to complete the project and write-up the outcomes. Students will work closely with their supervisors. The project will be finalised in the unit 11570 Medical Imaging Research Project B H.

Special assessment requirements
Passing the dissertation framework assessment item is a requirement in order to gain overall pass grade in this unit.
Show evidence and progess towards completion of draft chapters 1,2 and 3 and data collection, interpretation and analysis.
Note, approved extensions may delay unit results in 11570 Research Medical Imaging Project B H and thus impact graduation.

Participation requirements
Due to the Residency 1 and Radiographic Image Interpretation 2 unit attendance and requirements, this unit has 12 contact consultation sessions and an intensive week which expands to the end of Semester 2.
You are highly encouraged to utilise the 12 consultation opportunities to acquire the necessary support for the supervised independent research project undertaking. It is expected that you as an individual and group have already attempted the task at hand prior to attending the contact sessions. Lack of participation may result in inability to satisfactorily complete the assessments and could compromise achieving the pass grade. These contact support sessions will not be recorded, therefore note taking is highly recommended.
Required IT skills
All students are assumed to have computer literacy knowledge and skills.
Students will need access to Canvas, online database for journal article searches and other IT skills for data collection, management and evaluation

Provision of information to the group
The structural and technical layout for the assessments should be adhered to at all times as per this unit requirements.
Use only scholarly journal articles and books to intext cite and reference as prescribed for this unit.
Essay writing, reading and objective scientific communication and writing with the use of accurate terminology is a requirement.
Each group member must contribute towards the research project in an equitable manner.
Collusion could result in a breach in academic integrity, penalty and or potential misconduct.
Adhere to the student - supervisor agreement regarding research project and manuscript authorship considerations as per journal requirements.
