Domain 4: Evidence-informed practitioner
This unit will allow students to undertake a medical imaging research project that has been designed in the previously completed 10039 Medical Imaging Project Design PG unit. Students will work independently to complete their ethics application, commence with their data collection, interpretation and analysis. Students will work closely with their supervisors. The project will be finalised in the unit 11568 Medical Imaging Research Project B PG.

Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at UC. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.
Academic integrity involves the ethical, honest and responsible use, creation and sharing of information. It is critical to the quality of higher education. Our academic integrity values are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage.
UC students have to complete the Academic Integrity Module annually to learn about academic integrity and to understand the consequences of academic integrity breaches (or academic misconduct).
UC uses various strategies and systems, including detection software, to identify potential breaches of academic integrity. Suspected breaches may be investigated, and action can be taken when misconduct is found to have occurred.
Information is provided in the Academic Integrity Policy, Academic Integrity Procedure, and University of Canberra (Student Conduct) Rules 2023. For further advice, visit Study Skills.
Learner engagement
To demonstrate active engagement with their supervisor(s) regarding the research project undertaking, report write up and manuscript students will need to organise, have regular consultation meetings with their respective supervisor(s).
Attend the scheduled face to face intensive week.
Undertake self directed study and the independent research project.

Participation requirements
Due to the MRS Practicum 3, Clinical Block and MRI and Ultrasound unit in WT attendance and requirements, this unit has 12 contact consultation sessions and an intensive week which expands to the end of Semester 2.
You are highly encouraged to utilise the 12 consultation opportunities to acquire the necessary support for the supervised independent research project undertaking. It is expected that you as an individual and group have already attempted the task at hand prior to attending the contact sessions. Lack of participation may result in inability to satisfactorily complete the assessments and could compromise achieving the pass grade. These contact support sessions will not be recorded, therefore note taking is highly recommended.
Required IT skills
All students are assumed to have computer literacy knowledge and skills.
Students will need access to Canvas, online database for journal article searches and other IT skills for data collection, management and evaluation.
