Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan PG (11551.3)

This unit focuses on developing physiotherapy skills in specific populations, including paediatrics and aged care.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Critically investigate typical and atypical developmental changes across the lifespan, incorporating biopsychosocial and contextual information into clinical reasoning;
2. Implement and appraise safe, effective, and patient-centred physiotherapy assessments for children and older adults;
3. Devise, contextualise, and justify age-appropriate physiotherapy interventions using appropriate outcome measures that respond to the unique needs of individuals across the lifespan; and
4. Apply and adapt professional behaviours to create culturally safe workspaces when working with stakeholders, including interprofessional teams.
