In this unit students develop an understanding of teaching strategies that are responsive to the learning strengths and needs of students from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. The focus of this unit is an understanding of strategies for differentiating teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities.
1. Articulate advanced knowledge of diverse range of student learning needs;
2. Recommend effective and inclusive teaching strategies;
3. Critically analyse complex classroom situations to promote inclusion; and
4. Synthesise professional knowledge of Australian Professional Standards for Teachers in relation to own professional context.
