Learning outcomesAfter successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:

Submission of assessment items

Students must complete all assessment items and obtain a mark of 50% or more overall to pass this unit.

To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. You can access this module within UCLearn (Canvas) through the 'Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism' link in the Study Help site.
Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Students in the unit need to demonstrate a high degree of autonomy in their learning approach. There are no formal lectures but the scaffolding guides and associated discussions are recorded as are the workshops held in the virtual room. The schedule of workshops are held for students to have the opportunity to provide and seek feedback on their progress with different aspects of their industry project.
Students can either work independently or in small teams to obtain the benefit of a cross discipline perspective. However only the Project Plan and Industry Project Report can be undertaken by the project team. The rest of the assessment tasks must be undertaken individually.
Required IT skills
Students need to have ICT skills in order to make effective use of the Canvas site, to upload assignments and down load resources and be able to access the library databases for their research. Students need to be able to attend and interact through the Virtual Room and need to be able to prepare and present an audio 'pitch for change' in the Virtual Room.
Work placement, internships or practicums
This unit involves students undertaking an industry project that includes working with an the industry partner to understand the context for their project.
