Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Understand relevant theories and concepts drawn from strategic management and strategic HRM with a focus on contemporary trends and developments in these evolving and complex fields of study;
2. Reflect critically on the core knowledge required of the Business Strategist capability area in the Australian HR Capability Framework and the relevance to the student¿s formation of their sense of professional identity;
3. Understand the importance of values and sound ethical behaviour in the design, implementation, and evaluation of HRM policy, practice, and strategy; and
4. Analyse corporate and business planning documentation in relation to a specific organisation (including relevant HR analytical data), understand the organisation¿s internal and external environment, and identify and analyse industry-based research on strategic HRM and then use all of this information to identify the scope for improvement in a select area of HR practices and strategy.
