The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.

Students are encouraged to engage in all unit acitivities including Lectures, online tutorials and online discussion forums. Student engagement leads to better learning experience and have a positive impact on their achievement in the unit.
Participation requirements
Attending/listening lectures before the tutorials; reading the required weekly readings; and active engagement in the tutorials have a positive corelation with high achievement in the unit.
