Visualisation and Prototyping G (11073.1)

This unit builds on foundation units in visualisation techniques to provide students with a more advanced understanding of how to build digital and physical prototypes. Students will gain an understanding of relevant software and digital tools along with gaining skills in production methods such as 3D printing, laser cutting and various fabrication techniques. An exploration of materials, new technologies and their applications is also covered in this unit.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Critically analyse different techniques and processes for creating advanced visualisation prototypes;
2. Evaluate, select and apply materials and methods for prototyping; and
3. Design and produce advanced visual solutions and communicate these to clients.
