3D Digital Design Fundamentals (11047.1)

This first year unit is an introduction to the opportunities, principles and processes of the digital design environment in the field of industrial design. Students will develop fundamental 2D and 3D digital design communication skills, knowledge and methodologies acquired through problem-based design projects. The design process will be applied through design projects to produce creative solutions.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Relate the application of digital software to creative expression in design;

2. Apply fundamental techniques for digitally generating products of low complexity; and
3. Recognize the potential of digital design communication techniques for the industrial design profession.
