Manipulating topography is a key landscape architectural expertise that works with natural & artificial drainage, external activities and ecological systems. This unit introduces surface finishes & elements, universal access and teaches technical grading skills required to shape the land surface in three dimensions using both manual and digital tools.
1. Use surface grading methods to design common drainage solutions;
2. Utilize professional drawing conventions to represent topographical manipulation; and
3. Appreciate functional grading, water-sensitive urban design and standards of universal access.

Learning outcomes
