Landscape architecture is grounded on the making of gardens, landscapes & cities through a diverse range of historical periods, each with a different worldview. Introducing key precedents, concepts & theories from Australia and the world, this unit is the theoretical foundation for students' understanding of the profession of landscape architecture.
1. Recognise & identify key landscape architecture projects and their designers;
2. Understand and discuss significant landscape architecture and urban design theories; and
3. Develop and apply design analysis skills through written, oral and visual approaches.
