Professional Evidence (Built Environment) (11019.2)

In this unit students will draw together the skills and knowledge acquired throughout their degree to develop their understanding of the processes of practice and project management as relevant to the disciplines of the Built Environment. Topics addressed include the origins of the profession, project brief development in relation to client, public and/or user needs; roles and responsibilities of the professional practitioner; processes of working in a team of built environment specialists; processes of research into specific project typologies and methods; overview of codes, regulations and standards; and conventional practice and project administration tools.

Methodologically, students will demonstrate the integration of their academic and disciplinary knowledge and skills through significant projects and/or exhibitions. They will reflect on the value and outputs of their learning through their eportfolio; and they will demonstrate their understanding of professionalism and career-readiness through disciplinary initiatives.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate career-readiness, a clear professional identity, and insight into the skills, knowledge and personal attributes necessary to meet the standards of performance and practice expected by their profession;

2. Curate evidence of, and critically reflect on, the skills and knowledge acquired throughout their degree and how these will be applied and further developed in their professional lives;

Must be enrolled in 290JA Bachelor of Landscape Design, ABB001 Bachelor of the Built Environment (Architecture), ABB002 Bachelor of the Built Environment (Interior Architecture), ABB003 Bachelor of the Built Environment (Landscape Architecture), ABB201 Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (Honours) or ABAB01 Bachelor of Built Environment (Architecture)/Bachelor of Built Environment (Interior Architecture).
