Canberra Glassworks: Self-Guided Tour Project.
In Semester 1, 2024 you will be undertaking the Canberra Glasswork's Self-Guided Tour Project.
In this project, students will develop the content and uncover stories to create three engaging self-guided tours. Each tour will spotlight a facet of the rich history of the Canberra Glassworks in Kingston.
Self-guided tour 1: The first tour will look at the building’s history. This tour will emphasise the Powerhouse story through on-site artefacts and remaining infrastructure. We will also look at the site prior to the building’s construction.
Self-guided tour 2: The second tour will consider the adaptive reuse of the site as a
Glassworks. It will offer insight into diverse glass types, artistic processes, and the current use of the site.
Self-guided tour 3: The third tour will explore the work of individual glassmakers and
community by highlighting ongoing and past projects.
Students involved in this project will produce immersive and educational visitor experience. You will collaborate with other students (Design Team from Experiential Graphic Design-11066), community, and staff from UC/+Glassworks to produce an industry quality product. These self-guided tours will be implemented on-site by the Canberra Glassworks!
The project will have a content development stage throughout Semester 1 2024 and an implementation stage in Semester 2 2024 (you don’t need to take both units but this would be advantageous to see the project through till the end).

Academic integrity
Students have a responsibility to uphold University standards on ethical scholarship. Good scholarship involves building on the work of others and use of others' work must be acknowledged with proper attribution made. Cheating, plagiarism, and falsification of data are dishonest practices that contravene academic values. Refer to the University's Student Charter for more information.
To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. You can access this module within UCLearn (Canvas) through the 'Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism' link in the Study Help site.
Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Participation requirements
Attendance to workshops and site visits scheduled, if not able to attend any classes please notify and make alternative arrangements with the unit convener. This is a project based unit.
