In this design studio, students research, analyse and develop design and documentation strategies for a given site. All students work on the same site, or an approved alternative site, under the periodic supervision of a professional mentor. It is expected that students will develop and justify their own version of the design brief. At stated stages of the work, students present their interim work in workshop format to their peers and university tutors to gain feedback for their on-going work. Each student presents their final work to an invited professional panel. The work includes research and analysis of the site, opportunities and constraints from all sources, development and conservation strategies, resolution and development of design concepts and strategies, documentation of their design proposal, and professional presentation of the project outcomes.
