Submission of all assignments must occur via the UC Learn site called: Tertiary Education G (10092), Research Semester 2 2021, BRUCE [FLEXIBLE].
Special assessment requirements
It is essential for all participants that the APP be completed and passed in order to complete the unit and the course as a whole.
For standard GCTE participants submission and completion of the teaching philosophy statement (TPS), SOLI, ePortfolio, and APP are required to be considered passable. The TPS is the revised version of the original TPS completed in the earlier phase of the GCTE. The SOLI and ePortfolio are those that have also already been created at that earlier stage - new ones do not need to be created for the purposes of the unit.
For HEA achieved or HEA-submitted participants, the TPS, SOLI, and ePortfolio are considered optional components. The APP is required to be considered passable.
Supplement assessment will not be offered as it is inappropriate for this unit and course format.
Students have a responsibility to uphold University standards on ethical scholarship. Good scholarship involves building on the work of others and use of others' work must be acknowledged with proper attribution made. Cheating, plagiarism, and falsification of data are dishonest practices that contravene academic values. Refer to the University's Student Charter for more information.
To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. You can access this module within UCLearn (Canvas) through the 'Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism' link in the Study Help site.
Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
As this course is in a self-directed format it is strongly advised that participants stay in frequent contact with the teaching team throughout studies to help stay on track and to recieve regular guidance and feedback.
Required IT skills
You will need basic IT skills including knowledge of word processing. Ability to use the Mahara is ideal, but resources will be provided for learning support if needed and requested.
