This unit is offerd on campus. In line with COVID-19 outbreak preparedness lectures are recorded and some tutorial material is available online.
We value experiential learning. This is maximised in face to face tutorials and attendance is required.
It is also respectful to guest presenters.
You are required to participate in the local Field Trip in Week 3 with guest Tour Guides (and using public transport and walking).
The unit also requires you to get out walking to complete an "audit" of either an area close to your home or at the UC campus if this is where you live.
You need to participate in the four online fora, and to take seriously the 150 hour guideline, for a 3 unit course.
Required IT skills
This unit may involve online meetings in real time using Blackboard Collaborrate, Zoom or equivalent, if so a microphone will be essential. You will also be required to produce a 10 minute presentation, involving both pictures and sound (Audit of Place presentation). This can be done using powerpoint, prezi, or by making a video and uploading via youtube (instructions are provided).
