Word format: 1.5 to double spaced, 12 Times New Roman, with page numbers and student names on every page, and Reference List of sources (literature, videos etc.) used in APA format at the end.
PowerPoint format: 20 Sans Serif fonts following the 6x6 rule (i.e. maximum of 6 words per line over 6 lines max per slide.) Reference List of sources (literature, videos etc.) used in APA format at the end of the slideshow (the 6x6 rule here does not apply).
The 10065 Assignment Coversheet is to be completed and uploaded as part of the assessment. Assessment items must be submitted online on Canvas by the due date unless an extension has been negotiated (see student forms on UC website).
Special assessment requirements
All Assignments in this unit are graded. In order to pass this unit, all assignments must be submitted and an overall mark of 50% or more must be reached. A pass mark must be reached in Assignment 3 to pass the unit.
Moderation of Assignments:
Some assessments will be moderated, as per the School and Faculty Moderation Procedures.
Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at UC. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.

Learner engagement
Responsibility for Understanding
If there is any doubt with regard to the requirements of any particular assignments or assessment procedure, the onus for clarifying the issue rests with the student who should contact the tutor or unit convener. Further, it is the responsibility of students to ensure that they are correctly enrolled in the unit and that the tutor and Student Administration have their correct contact details.
Participation requirements
The Master of Counselling and Grad Dip have been designed to meet the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) accreditation requirements, which include 200 hours face to face learning. This translates to at least an 80% attendance in each unit. It is expected that students will attend all sessions unless prevented by illness or other unforeseen situations. In these circumstances students should notify the lecturer in advance where possible. In order to meet the required professional and educational standards students must discuss catchup work with the lecturer when two sessions have been missed.
Required IT skills
You must be able to word process assessments so that they are well presented, search the library data bases for relevant journal articles and access the UCLearn Web site for this unit. It is the individual student's responsibility to access appropriate help from the university IT services or the library if he or she does not have adequate skills.
