Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Recognise and identify the normal adult and paediatric appearance of the anatomical structures of each region as demonstrated in planar radiography, CT and MRI;
2. Locate, recognise and describe anatomical surface landmarks and relate these to the normal anatomical relationships of the structures of each region;
3. Describe, using appropriate diagrams, the normal anatomical relationships of the major structures, including skeletal, organ, major muscle and vascular structures, of each region;
4. Recognise and describe anatomical variants on co-registered physiological images of SPECT and PET; and
5. Justify the appropriate imaging modality for optimal anatomical appearances.

Skills development
Students are required to have a thorough understanding of equivelant units Introduction for Regional Anatomy and Physiology & Systemic Anatomy and Physiology. The knowledge of the correct terminiology in diagostic medical imaging, basic physical principles relating to the to various imaging modalities and the application of the imaging modalities to different patient presentations, is an advantage.

Learner engagement
The students will participate in various learning activities such as lectures, tutorials and self-directed learning. The lectures and tutorials are blended and may also involve a mixture of face to face and Canvas virtual room at the scheduled teaching times. The teaching schedule is available on Canvas site. Apart from the lectures and tutorials, students are required to engage in at least 4 hours of independent, self-directed learning per week.
