Unravel is an acrylic painting encompassing the emotions behind constantly helping others but getting nothing in return. In this self portrait, the hand is reaching out to the audience, index finger distorted in its unraveling. The hand invites the viewer to further destroy the body, watching as the subject slowly descends into nothingness. This demonstrates how people take so much and give so little back, ignoring the impact it has on others. It showcases the continuous pressure to give everything for other’s pleasure, resulting in losing yourself in the process.
