Specialist Major in International Business (SM0023.1)

The major in International Business introduces students to important concepts and practices in analysing the international business environment, and in operating and growing international businesses. The major aims to develop skills and competencies in the understanding of business systems, and cross-cultural or supply chain issues affecting these systems in an international business context. These skills prepare students for careers in import/export, strategic planning, government trade agencies, business intelligence, industry associations and international trade and investment, among others. The major differs from other business majors by its strong emphasis on trade and investment in an international context, and from economics majors by placing greater emphasis on managerial issues and perspectives.
