The major in professional nursing practice is a suite of six units that specifically focuses learning within simulated and work integrated learning contexts. The major is available to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing and requires students to undertake experiences as arranged by the UC Placement Office. Travel to placement is required and students must meet all requirements as per the Faculty of Health Clinical Guide, and the Bachelor of Nursing Clinical Guide. Students are required to demonstrate safe practice based on the ANMC (2006) competency standards for the Registered Nurse, within the parameters of the Bondy (1983) scale and according to the students own scope of practice (based on learning development and demonstrated within the e-portfolio).
Prerequisite and/or Corequisite: Learning for Professional Practice 1 and Nursing Inquiry are prerequisite requirements for Learning for Professional Practice 2-6 with all units' pre or co requisite for Learning for Professional Practice 6.
