The degree in Sports Management provides students with the knowledge and skills involved in becoming a competent sports manager. This degree (established in 1981) was the first of its kind in Australia and has since become the leader in the field of professional sport management education.
Professional accreditation
Graduates are eligible for membership with the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER), the Institute of Sport Management and the Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand.

Additional admission requirements
Structured work experience is a requirement of this course and is provided through individual or group placements with sports organisations as part of the requirements of individual units. Students will be required to complete AFP police checks.
Assumed knowledge
ACT: Mathematics (T) and English (T). NSW: Mathematics and English Advanced.

Credit arrangements
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.

Note:
- 1. From Semester 1 2018 unit 5617 Accounting for Managers is no longer offered. Students complete unit 11009 Business Decision Making instead.
- 2. From Semester 1 2018 unit 4977 Introduction to Business Law is no longer offered. Students complete unit 11220 Business Law.
- Unit Levels: In selecting electives students should note that no more than 30 credit points at Level 1 is permitted for the entire course.
Note:- Must pass 12 credit points from anywhere in the University, as a Minor or as individual units.
