This course provides students with a sound scientific background in nutritional science, food and consumer science and the psychological, social and cultural factors influencing people's response to food and their eating behaviour. The emphasis is on the role of nutrition in the maintenance of health and well being in different societies and the physiological, biochemical and epidemiological relationships with diet-related diseases prevalent in affluent societies.
Professional accreditation
Graduates of the Bachelor of Human Nutrition, following relevant work experience, may be eligible to apply for the credential 'Registered Nutritionist' with the Nutrition Society of Australia.
