Hundreds of high school graduates guaranteed UC offers before Christmas

18 December 2019: With more than 500 Canberra students yesterday receiving a guaranteed placement at University of Canberra ahead of the official first round offers on Monday 23 December, there is more reason than ever for Year 12 students to celebrate.

“Graduating high school students wanting to receive an offer from UC before Christmas still have time to change UAC preferences by Thursday 19 December at midnight to receive an offer in the first round on Monday,” said Lawrence Pratchett, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students, Partnerships and International). “Imagine being able to tell your aunts and uncles your university plans for 2020 over turkey and prawns on Christmas Day!”

The University is expecting to make more than 1400 offers as part of the Universities Admissions Centre’s (UAC) on Monday.

Professor Pratchett said there is proof that UC is a destination high on the list of Canberra students entering higher education for a better career. We’re seeing more students preferencing UC due to our impressive report card on graduate employment and starting salaries, and our unique work-integrated-learning experience.

“The University strives on delivering a student experience that is unmatched in Canberra and beyond,” said Professor Pratchett.

“UC is in an exciting position. We are now ranked in the 1% universities in the world and the top 10 in Australia, according to the 2020 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

UC’s Course Advice Day is on today (18 December 2019) at the University’s Bruce campus from 10am to 2pm.
