Biography

Ben has been a teacher for approximately 10 years. He originally started in the international school system, teaching in Manila, Philippines. While predominantly a secondary school teacher, he has experience in teaching Nursery to Year 12. His main subject areas are HPE, Science and Maths.

Additionally, Ben spent many years in the Philippines where he learnt the language and culture of his motherland, as well as representing the country via the Men's rugby team. He believes this experience has helped him develop the psychological understanding and rigor of being a lifelong learner and global citizen.

Ben has a strong passion for education, with particular focus on engagement, pedagogy and wellbeing. He believes in building the connection between students, subject matter and its real-world application. After completing his undergraduate and honours at UC, he has since completed his graduate diploma and masters in education. Most recently, Ben has commenced his PhD studies with UC, focusing on teacher-wellbeing and the use of AI in teaching practice.
