22 September 2016: The University of Canberra continues to cement its place among the best universities in the world after moving up in two prestigious world rankings this week.
These results place the University of Canberra in the top four per cent of tertiary institutions worldwide.
An improved performance in research and teaching reputation, citation of publications by our academic peers and international outlook saw the University ascend both in the Times Higher Education World Rankings (THE) and the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) top 100 young universities.

The University of Canberra has been ranked in the 401-500 band in the 2016-2017 THE World University Rankings, up from last year's position in the 501-600 band. This achievement places the University as the 24th ranked institution in Australia, up from 28th last year.
The University of Canberra has also risen to the 81-90 band of universities under the age of 50 in the 2016-17 QS young university rankings compared with the 91-100 band in 2015.
Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Deep Saini said it is very pleasing to see that the University's growing reputation in research and teaching, in addition to its increasing international outlook are being recognised in these rankings.
"The University of Canberra is only 26 years old and this is fantastic recognition of its outstanding achievements in its very young history," Professor Saini said.
"Our education and research performance has continued to rise sharply in the past few years and we are committed to continue working hard to ensure we keep improving in the years to come," he said.
"We have big plans for the next few years and these results show we are definitely heading in the right direction."
