Welcome from the Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Education website. The Faculty was re-established in 2018. Education was one of the founding disciplines of University when it was originally established as the Canberra College of Advanced Education in 1967. Today, Education at UC is world ranked (2017 QS Subject Discipline Rankings) and as befitting our location in the national capital, our research and teaching programs have a national and international impact. Our online teacher professional learning site offers DSE training for more than 300,000 teachers in schools in most states and territories while our research and teaching programs are active in Pakistan, Indonesia, South Korea, China, PNG and the South Pacific.

We work closely with schools in Canberra and our region. Two UC Schools, Lake Ginninderra College and Kaleen High School became affiliated with the Faculty in 2010. The Affiliated Schools program will expand in 2018 to build on the success of our first UC Schools.

The Faculty is home to the STEM Education Research Centre (SERC), the Centre for Asia Pacific School and Community Advancement (CAPSCA), the Inspire Centre and the Wiradjuri Early Childhood Centre.

This website is designed to provide information to current and prospective students, news about our research and teaching programs and general information for those wishing to learn more about the faculty, centres, academics and their research.
