In this unit, students will develop the skills and understanding necessary to raise capital for new and existing ventures of various types and stages of maturity. In addition to understanding the various types of funding available and the benefits and drawbacks of each, students will be able to develop strategies to source and raise funds, with accurate venture valuations. This unit is delivered self-paced online, requiring students to self-manage their work load, developing many skills required of and outstanding graduate students.
1. Accurately value market potential for new ventures and appropriate pitch 'asks';
2. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of various capital fundraising methods and strategies;
3. Analyse the various types of business funding available to organisations of varying stages;
4. Develop pitch capabilities to secure funding for new ventures; and
5. Create basic financial projections to support business investment decisions.
Learning outcomes
