This unit explores the types and usage of visual identity in contemporary culture from the personal, to collective and corporate culture. It involves the classification of types of visual identity and the critique of visual identity based on design, content, context and audience.
Students will learn to evaluate existing professional benchmarks in relation to visual identity. They will be able to plan and design visual identities for individuals, groups, products or businesses reflecting critical thinking and innovative solutions.
A sound understanding of this unit will allow the student to both critique and create visual identities in contemporary culture.
Critique concepts of visual identity based on design, content, context and audience
Evaluate existing professional benchmarks to assist in the development of a visual identity proposal and presentation
Plan and design a complete visual identity for an individual, group, product or business that reflects critical thinking and innovative solutions
Employ communication skills in an academic and/or creative context

Participation requirements
Students are expected to attend and actively participate in all lectures, and workshops. If a student misses lectures or workshops, regardless of reason, it may negatively impact upon their final assessment, due to them having missed important educational information and material. Announcements that are made at lectures, and via class email, are deemed to be made to the whole group.
Students who attend campus for class or other purposes must play their part in keeping our campus and community safe by following these basic guidelines to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission:
- Practise good hand hygiene, washing hands regularly;
