Required texts
The library has an extensive range of books on film, film makers and craft, as well as DVDs that include 'the making of' material.
All of this can be used to explore your chosen specialization.
Articles, interviews and documentaries on film makers and film crews can be found via the Web.
The below sites are of great use and students should consider joining one of them, once they decide on their chosen specialization. Some have free membership for students.

Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
If students require an extension, they must contact their tutor/unit convenor BEFORE the due date, with reasons given.
I encourage all students to let me know if there are any issues with their group before it gets to be an BIG issue.
Academic integrity
Students have a responsibility to uphold University standards on ethical scholarship. Good scholarship involves building on the work of others and use of others' work must be acknowledged with proper attribution made. Cheating, plagiarism, and falsification of data are dishonest practices that contravene academic values. Refer to the University's Student Charter for more information.
To enhance understanding of academic integrity, all students are expected to complete the Academic Integrity Module (AIM) at least once during their course of study. You can access this module within UCLearn (Canvas) through the 'Academic Integrity and Avoiding Plagiarism' link in the Study Help site.
Use of Text-Matching Software
The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. The software matches submitted text in student assignments against material from various sources: the internet, published books and journals, and previously submitted student texts.
Learner engagement
As this is a production unit, not a theory unit, and the production is a group work project, students should understand the workload that is involved and communicate with their group members early in the semester about any outside commitments that cannot be changed, such as work or family.
Participation requirements
It is expected that students attend all of the scheduled Workshops for this unit. Failure to attend these Workshops will mean the student may miss out on being put in a group, as well as missing vital information that is required to complete the assessments successfully.
Required IT skills
Students must have done Short Film Production as well as Intro to Cinematography prior to this unit.
As such they will have skills in camera work, lighting, as well as short film making, including editing and sound.
In-unit costs
Students should consider extra costs to film making including wardrobe, specialist film equipment, location costs, travel and catering.
Work placement, internships or practicums
None for this unit, however there is scope in this unit for students to approach and interview a crew member for thier assessment which allows them to gain access to the film industry.
See Unit Outline Assessment for details.
