Learning outcomes
On completion of this unit students will be able to:1. design and implement packaging and promotional materials for a completed short film or animation;
2. assemble a show reel from work created during the course of study;
3. develop a press kit and marketing plan for the distribution and promotion of a completed short film or animation.

Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
All assessment items will be submitted online via the unit Moodle site. The first page of each assessment submission should include the following information:

Late submissions: 10% deduction per day for late submissions, a maximum of 3 days late. Any assessment task submitted later than 3 days will result in a fail. To pass the subject a student must submit every assessment task. Re-submissions can only receive a maximum of 50%.

The University of Canberra uses text-matching software to help students and staff reduce plagiarism and improve understanding of academic integrity. Students use design and layout software to create DVD covers and labels. Finished art is to be completed to a standard suitable for professional printing. The various materials are to be printed and assembled for implementation as prototypes. |

Students edit a show reel of work created during the three years of the course. The show reel is to be delivered as a playable PAL DVD . Students may choose to produce multiple reels for different purposes e.g. a character animation reel as well as a separate lighting/texturing reel for animation, a cinematography reel and a separate editing reel for live action. |

Students are required to produce a press kit for their major short film production, including synopsis, CV and biographical information of key cast and crew, poster art, DL cards and promotional still images. The press kit will be designed as both hard copy and for digital delivery. |
