This unit is designed to provide an opportunity for established researchers to present for examination a thesis of published works that represents substantial, original contribution to knowledge.
1. Conceive, design and carry to completion a piece of original research (comprising a collection of authored published research output(s) and a Critical Overview) which, in the opinion of two independent assessors of recognised standing, adds substantially to existing knowledge and understanding of the field of study;
2. Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the scholarly literature in their field of research and be aware of current or potential areas of contention likely to form the focus of future research in their field;
3. Develop the skills necessary for communicating the results of their work effectively to other professionals in their field of study; and
4. Demonstrate a high degree of scholarship.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1.
