Landscape Systems (8273.3)

This unit develops critical understandings of the landscape as the central organising element in spatial systems. It interrogates the role of landscape in an increasingly complex and uncertain human world. Using case studies it examines human environment interactions that shape the way we understand the urban and non-urban environment.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Critically explore and synthesise global social and environmental challenges;
2. Understand systems theory and landscape systems in an urban environment;
3. Interpret reports and strategic documents that affect sustainable development; and
4. Produce a well structured and researched report.
