Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Demonstrate creative and practical skills in visual arts and drama;
2. Demonstrate an understanding of arts concepts relevant to early childhood and primary education;
3. Examine ways of designing and implementing learning experiences for children in visual arts and drama at the early childhood and primary level; and
4. Demonstrate an understanding of the specific issues related to assessment and reporting in the arts.

Skills development
The unit consists of modules that introduce students to basic skills and knowledge in Visual Arts and Drama. As the student gains confidence in their own arts practice and an understanding of arts concepts, they will examine children’s learning in Visual Arts and Drama and develop their own skills as teachers of Visual Arts and Drama.

Special assessment requirements
Due to accreditation requirements, students must display the ability to teach all arts disciplines, therefore students must pass both assignments in order to pass the unit.
