This unit builds practical skills to support identifying and implementing actions to improve sustainability in workplaces. These kills include assessing sustainability in the workplace, identifying and advocating for action, understanding legal and regulatory obligations, and hear from workplace leaders in the business, government and not-for-profit sectors about their approaches to increasing sustainability in their workplaces, including through supply chains. Students will build skills that enable them to both critically evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of sustainability strategies, policies and reporting used in different workplaces, and to develop plans to support environmentally responsible action in the workplace.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Assess key elements of sustainability in the workplace; and
2. Develop the skills needed to successfully advocate for sustainability in the workplace
