This unit examines the critical attributes of effective school leadership and the complexity of leading change in education settings. It draws on relevant academic and system-based sources to critically examine the role of middle leaders in schools, and how middle leadership can lead meaningful change to improve teaching and student learning outcomes. Educators examine a variety of leadership case studies to develop and refine their personal and professional understandings of leadership and apply these scenarios to leading in their context.
