In this unit, you will draw on all the knowledge and skills you¿ve developed so far as you take on an editorial leadership role for The Owl. Through oversight of The Owl¿s output online and on UCFM, you will sharpen your editorial judgement in a deadline-driven publishing environment. You will be tasked with producing quality content alongside your peers, and with guiding and editing the work of other student journalists. Having experienced the editorial process from every perspective throughout your degree, this unit will cement your appreciation of iterative, collaborative production as a means of enhancing both the editorial and technical quality of content.
1. Exercise editorial leadership in overseeing the whole-of-course editorial process;
2. Apply critical editorial judgement to their own work and the work of others;
3. Produce quality multimedia and multi-platform content to tight deadlines; and
4. Demonstrate professionalism and ethical practice, and conduct themselves confidently as early career journalists.
