Broadcast radio and television are highly professional industries with long established work practices. While the style of broadcast content has evolved over time, the fundamentals have remained much the same. In this unit, you will work in teams to produce broadcast quality radio and television content for UCFM and The Owl. Your programs will combine live and pre-recorded content, drawing on interviews and original audio-visual material. Throughout this process, you will professionalise your voice and presentation skills, and learn how to maintain a dual focus on editorial and technical aspects to create industry standard material.

Participation requirements
This unit is built around synchronous experiential learning. Workshops are designed to scaffold students towards production of quality assessment work. As such, attendance at all classes is strongly encouraged and success in this unit will be very difficult without ongoing, in person engagement.

This unit requires foundational IT skills such as basic computer and internet use, and basic multimedia production skills.
