Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Evaluate and integrate knowledge from a range of practice-based sources and assessments to determine a diagnosis of language delay/disorder in young people;
2. Plan and provide safe, quality, culturally responsive, holistic, ethical and evidence-based assessment procedures for language and literacy disorders in young people;
3. Analyse, interpret, diagnose and report on assessments of language and literacy in young people to facilitate differential diagnosis;
4. Adapt communication to expertly explain assessment outcomes to diverse audiences; and
5. Work collaboratively with individuals, families and communities to plan person/family-centred, evidence-based, ethical, and culturally responsive speech pathology services for language and literacy disorders in young people.
