Discipline Development (11942.1)

This unit focuses on the development of specific discipline skills and knowledge to produce and present creative works. Students will analyse and develop their practice and their knowledge of the structural and cultural frameworks that support that practice. The unit introduces discipline processes and methods and establishes the professional standards for creative work. Successful engagement in this unit will allow students to address these standards and strengthen their work as discipline practitioners. Independent study skills are required to be successful in this unit.

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Apply specific discipline skills to produce creative works;
2. Analyse structural and cultural frameworks for the production and presentation of creative works; and
3. Demonstrate self-management and communication skills in academic and/or creative contexts.
