This unit presents the monitoring and controlling methods which can be used to keep a construction project on track, or to cope with deviations. It consists of the activities involved to observe the process after construction project implementation, identify problems and risks, and deploy a mitigation strategy to improve and control the process. The unit incorporates practical sessions and case studies to consider the problems associated with resource utilization, accounting systems and conventions and deviations from a construction project plan. It is intended to synthesize a comprehensive view from the different reports on the project plus observations on the impacts of project changes.
