Practical Applications of Training PG (11586.1)

This unit will allow the student to put the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge learnt in the previous units into practice. This unit will allow students to enhance and apply communication strategies as they pertain to the scenario and training method. The unit will be conducted in a 2-week residential school at the University of Canberra. The assessments align with both national and international industry based qualification requirements. Students will also engage with and be assessed by industry professionals.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Create, implement and evaluate group based athlete preparation strategies to enhance training and game day performance;
2. Create, implement and evaluate various training methods associated with developing athletic capabilities; and
3. Discuss and debate contemporary issues within strength and conditioning.
