Required texts
For some topics, there will be several key papers that are required readings as part of the core online learning modules. These will be clearly identified for students in the learning module.
Other provided readings will be optional for students, and have been made available as additional resources for students to support their individual learning needs and/or interests.
Submission of assessment items
Extensions & Late submissions
Assessments 1 and 2 are individual assessments, and will receive individual marks. Assessment 2 requires the students to work in a pair when recording their client handover, but they receive their own mark for this assessment and each student must submit their own recording and documentation.
Assessment 3 can be done as a pair, and students are encouraged to work in pairs for this. Students who work in pairs will receive the same mark for this assessment as a whole. Both students must submit a copy of the assessment to their Canvas drop box.
Students must apply academic integrity in their learning and research activities at UC. This includes submitting authentic and original work for assessments and properly acknowledging any sources used.
Academic integrity involves the ethical, honest and responsible use, creation and sharing of information. It is critical to the quality of higher education. Our academic integrity values are honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility and courage.
UC students have to complete the Academic Integrity Module annually to learn about academic integrity and to understand the consequences of academic integrity breaches (or academic misconduct).
UC uses various strategies and systems, including detection software, to identify potential breaches of academic integrity. Suspected breaches may be investigated, and action can be taken when misconduct is found to have occurred.
Information is provided in the Academic Integrity Policy, Academic Integrity Procedure, and University of Canberra (Student Conduct) Rules 2023. For further advice, visit Study Skills.
Learner engagement
Students are strongly encouraged to attend the on-campus workshops and tutorials each week to optimise success in completing the unit as well as to ensure appropriate preparation leading into their clinical placements. This unit is designed to be delivered in person and cannot be undertaken solely online.
The timetable for this unit has been developed in conjunction with the other core units in this semester for the Bachelor of Exercise Physiology and Rehabilition. Students need to enrol in complimentary workshops and tutorials so that there are no clashes across their core units of study.
Where available, workshops and tutorials will be recorded to enable students who are sick/symptomatic or have a critical reason to miss specific classes, to access the information from discussions and learning activities covered that week.
