Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan (11539.3)

This unit focuses on developing physiotherapy skills in specific populations, including paediatrics and aged care.

This unit may be co-taught with the postgraduate version of the unit 11551 Physiotherapy Across the Lifespan PG.

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
1. Investigate typical and atypical developmental changes across the lifespan, incorporating biopsychosocial and contextual information into clinical reasoning;
2. Conduct safe, effective, and patient-centred physiotherapy assessments for children and older adults;
3. Design age-appropriate physiotherapy interventions using appropriate outcome measures that respond to the unique needs of individuals across the lifespan; and
4. Demonstrate professional behaviours to create culturally safe work spaces when working with stakeholders, including interprofessional teams.
