This unit may be co-taught with the postgraduate version of the unit 11505 Orthopaedic Physiotherapy PG.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:1. Apply foundational knowledge of tissue injury, musculoskeletal trauma, and fracture classification systems to support safe and effective orthopaedic physiotherapy assessment and management;
2. Assess clinical scenarios in orthopaedic physiotherapy and apply evidence-informed and culturally responsive principles to develop patient-centred management plans;
3. Demonstrate culturally responsive care by recognising the influence of patients' lived experience, values, and identity in collaborative decision-making;
4. Interpret clinical documentation and medical terminology to deliver structured clinical handovers and explain management plans to patients and health professionals; and
5. Describe the roles and responsibilities of key interprofessional team members involved in orthopaedic patient care.
